Extra Simple History is a history channel with one simple goal: to make the whole of human history easy — and enjoyable — to understand. We take the world’s biggest, most tangled stories and retell them as short, animated episodes that anyone can follow, no matter where they’re starting from.
Our mission
The past is the best story ever told, but it’s too often locked behind dense textbooks and dry lectures. We think that’s a shame. Our mission is to do the heavy lifting — the reading, the research, the untangling — so that the story itself is all that’s left for you.
How we make it
Every episode begins with real research. We gather sources, establish the facts and dates, and map out what genuinely mattered — then distill it into a clear, tightly told story. From there it becomes a fully illustrated, narrated episode in our house cartoon style.
A few principles guide the work:
- Accuracy first. Simple should never mean wrong. We check names, dates, and events before we simplify them.
- Clarity over cleverness. One idea at a time, in plain language, so the story is always easy to follow.
- Every corner of the world. We deliberately cover the eras and regions that popular history tends to overlook.
- Fun is the point. A little humor and personality make history stick — and make it worth coming back to.
The studio behind it
Extra Simple History is published under LinkedByte, an independent studio for audiobooks, apps, games, podcasts, and digital projects.
LinkedByte was founded by Ibnul Jaif Farabi, an engineer, writer, and builder based in New York City. Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, he trained as an engineer at RUET and Southern Illinois University, and has worked at Amazon, Tata Consultancy Services, and NYC Health + Hospitals — pairing large-scale systems thinking with a lifelong love of storytelling. Extra Simple History grew out of that combination: the discipline to get the details right, and the belief that a good story is the best way to share them.
